Gnr. P. Coxon, formerly of the Royal Artillery, suffered injuries including multiple superficial wounds and lacerated right elbow and left thigh wound following the grenade accident aboard HMS Prince Charles on 9th December 1941 during the preparations for the raid on Florø (Norway).

It is known that he recovered from his wounds and, whilst serving with No.4 Troop took part in Operation Torch.
